What is EduSpot

In 2009, the US based company, FTC Family of Companies, released their online system for K-12 schools entitled MyVRSpot. The MyVRSpot system was designed as an online system for uploading, archiving, indexing, sharing, and collaborating on multimedia and digital content within the school environment. Within three years of its release, the MyVRSpot system has become the leader in the hosting and delivery of “user created” content within the US school market, and currently have more than 1.2 million teacher and student users.

In May, 2011, FTC Family of Companies and BES IT Solutions entered into an agreement to develop and provide a custom nationalized version of the MyVRSpot system for Australia schools. This new branded system is available throughout Australia as EduSpot, and available through a nationwide reseller network.

Why Are Schools and School Systems using EduSpot?

Cloud Based - With 24/7 anytime anywhere access, EduSpot extends the learning process well after normal school hours and provides an extensive tool set for users to access from any internet connected computer.

Safety and Security - EduSpot requires all users to login to access any student-created content. Student content can only be viewed by others within the same school and/or school district.

Total Cost of Ownership - EduSpot can be setup in a matter of minutes, with no hardware or software to purchase or maintain. In most cases, this provides a dramatic financial savings as well as peace of mind for an IT staff of any size.

Supports Multiple Learning Modalities - All learners are not alike, therefore information should be presented to them in various ways. EduSpot's learning environment is focused around the use of various media formats, appealing to all student learning styles.

Professional Development - Provide teachers with a technology-rich professional development system for videos, presentations, graphics, text files and much more. Administrators can even monitor what users have viewed specific PD content!

Ownership of Content - Unlike other multimedia hosting solutions, EduSpot will NOT sell, distribute, commercialize or in any way, shape, or form, claim ownership of content uploaded by students, teachers, or administrators. Please make sure to read "the small print" provided by other companies to verify you are compliant with all school, district, and/or state policies.
